Together, you will explore the evolution of the fantasy genre and its many subgenres, delve into what makes fantasy writing unique, and discuss what quests in creativity & publishing might await you.

Let author Kelley Skovron guide you through the strange and magical landscapes of writing fantasy, from Tolkein’s Middle Earth and Le Guin’s Earthsea, to Martin’s Westeros and Jemisin’s Stillness.

Kelley Skovron is the author of more than 14 novels for kids, teens, and adults across a range of genres, including fantasy, horror, and adventure. Her work has been translated into 6 other languages, published in 9 countries outside the US, and adapted for audiobooks. She has given talks and workshops on writing and literature all over the country, most notably a lecture on the life and works of Mary Shelley at the Library of Congress.
