Join us and meet author Valerie Thompkins for a fun storytime in celebration of Valerie’s latest picture book, Boys Like Me.

Boys Like Me can do anything they set their minds to. Follow the journey of a curly haired little boy as he explores a new role on every page, gaining the self confidence to become a future history maker. This inspiring and easy to read picture book is designed to shape the future for readers and encourage them to begin exploring occupations at an early age.

Valerie Thompkins is an author, speaker, and mentor who is passionate about diversity in children’s literature. ​She believes in creating books which provide a positive representation of black and brown children and families in main character roles. Valerie is on a mission to publish books centered around career exploration, financial literacy, and STEM education.
