Worldwide bestselling author of Goosebumps and the master of scary stories for young readers, R.L. Stine, launches his new middle grade graphic novel series with Just Beyond: The Scare School Original Graphic Novel, a supernatural horror tale bound to scare a whole new generation of kids. To celebrate the launch of the series, Gramercy Books is bringing Stine back to his hometown for several weekend festivities, including the 11:30am ticketed screening of Goosebumps 2, followed by an author talk and book signing.
Tickets are $20 and available through Eventbrite. Each ticket includes the film, author talk, a copy of Just Beyond, and book signing with Mr. Stine. Additional books by R. L. Stine will be available at the event. Doors open at The Drexel at 10:30am.
JUST BEYOND: THE SCARE SCHOOL ORIGINAL GRAPHIC NOVEL features middle schoolers Jess, Josh, and Marco. When the three encounter a strange and deadly creature wandering the halls of The Scare School, it leads them to a sinister secret in the boiler room… As they leave their school behind, these three unsuspecting students enter a horrifying reality just beyond the one they know, one filled with supernatural terror and fright. Will they survive the harrowing journey and save the other children they find trapped there, or will they forever be trapped on the wrong side of The Scare School?

Best known for the Goosebumps series, which launched in 1992 and was adapted for both television movies, R. L. Stine has also created and written the Fear Street, Mostly Ghostly and Nightmare Room series, in addition to a number of other projects. Last year saw his first move into comic books, writing the five-part Marvel series Man-Thing.
