Open Mic Night at Griffey’s

Something else new we would like to try at Griffeys’ this is an open mic night! With our focus on supporting independent and local authors, we thought it appropriate to also provide opportunities for our local and aspiring performers. The open mic is happening on Friday, June 23rd from 6pm to 8pm. We have 10 seven-minute slots for participants to perform anything from music, to poetry, to prose. It could be a cover of your favorite song, a reading of poetry that you wrote, or even a piece of improvised stand-up comedy. All we ask is that you keep your selections relatively family friendly, about a PG-13 level, since we are a family store!

We are really looking forward to this event, but we can’t make it happen without you! This will be our first event of this kind, so I expect there will be a few kinks to work out, but we are both very excited to see what everyone comes up with and enjoy a night of creativity and community.
