OPA Whistle-Stop tour goes to Sandusky

WHISTLE-STOP POETRY TOUR
OPA and Poets Against Racism & Hate USA (PARH USA) will conduct a whistle-stop poetry tour of Underground Railroad stations throughout Ohio!
With the help of OPA members and community partners, we will present a series of poetry readings at historic sites where we will feature poets and poems that honor Ohio’s legacy on the Underground Railroad and that raise awareness of issues of social justice, hate, and prejudice.

10:00 AM–12:00 PM: Historical and current-day social justice poetry reading
12:30 PM–1:30 PM: Erie County Historical Society presentation on the Underground Railroad in Sandusky
1:00 PM–4:00 PM: Self-guided tours of Follett House Museum, which has ties to the Underground Railroad and houses local Black history artifacts
The event also will feature a display of local Underground Railroad artifacts and exhibitor and book sales tables.
