Monday, November 21 | 6:00–8:00 pm Eastern Time
Location: In-Person at Thurber Center OR Virtual on Zoom
Instructor: Lyn Ford
Mix and mingle personal gifts for your writing from the treasury of reminiscences and ideas garnered from the past. These gifts may seem disorganized or distorted—but they can be developed into pearls that complete a narrative thread, a string of anecdotal incidents, or interwoven moments that may become story or verse. Using practical and thought-provoking plot templates, begin or continue a work of crafted nonfiction, constructing memoirs from memories.
Lyn Ford is fourth-generation, nationally recognized Affrilachian* storyteller (*a person of African American heritage and history from Appalachia). She is a mentor and teacher at Thurber House, and a teaching artist and workshop facilitator with the Ohio Alliance for Arts Education. As a writer, Lyn is published in storytelling magazines and newsletters, as well as teachers’ enrichment books and story anthologies. Lyn is also a Laughter Yoga Teacher and breath mechanic, a recording artist with award-winning CDs, and a storytelling, creative writing workshop, and interactive keynote presenter.
