When Tami Kamin Meyer moved to Columbus from her native Cincinnati to attend Capital University Law School in 1986, she was not a fan of the capital city. Despite her initial reservations, Columbus has “grown on me like a vine,” she says.

Editor of Write Now Columbus, Tami is the mother of two sons. One is a sports journalist and the other studying journalism in college. Kamin Meyer has been a freelance writer, editor and content creator since 1981. Her byline has appeared in a myriad of publications, including Parents.com, Apartmentguide.com, Forbes, MarketWatch, Next Avenue, Cannabis & Tech Today, Your Teen, Ohio Magazine and Columbus Monthly.

Licensed in Ohio, the state’s federal court and the US Supreme Court, Kamin Meyer is a solo practitioner representing clients in personal bankruptcy, probate and family law matters.

She served as Marketing/Communications Chair of the American Society of Journalists and Authors for three years, and is a member of the Columbus Bar Association’s Board of Editors.

Tami is an avid recreational kayaker, a “dog ma” of three rescues, and is involved in improv comedy.

Nita Sweeney, publisher of Write Now Columbus (WNC), is a central Ohio-based author, meditator, runner, and dog mom. Download Nita’s free ebook, Three Tools for a Happier, Healthier Mind, here.

Nita created WNC (formerly Write Now Newsletter) in January of 2003. In 2002, before moving to Wisconsin, Shannon Jackson Arnold generously gifted Nita the email list Shannon used to notify writers of local events. Nita expanded it to include writing events in Franklin and contiguous counties. The WNC site also includes writing groups and individuals offering professional services to writers. In January 2021, Tami Kamin Meyer joined as editor and a few months later, Leslie Parisi joined as editorial assistant. Originally a few simple pages on Nita’s website, in 2022, WNC moved to its own site and domain.

Nita is the award-winning author of the running and mental health memoir, Depression Hates a Moving Target: How Running With My Dog Brought Me Back From the Brink, and coauthor of the writing journal, You Should Be Writing: a Journal of Inspiration and Instruction to Keep Your Pen Moving.

Her third book, Make Every Move a Meditation, was featured in the Wall Street Journal. Nita counts as her biggest fans husband Ed and her yellow Labrador running partner, Scarlet.
